Mr. George Darling is Senior Vice President Engineering of the Company. Over his 30 years of experience in mine operations and engineering, George has held senior positions at a variety of international mining consulting companies. Before joining Sandstorm in 2018 he was Senior Mine Consultant and Regional Director at Hatch, a mining business and technical consulting company. He has also held senior positions at SNCLavalin, Stantec and SRK Consulting. George has an indepth knowledge base and extensive background in underground mining operations and project management. His expertise include 43101 reports, mine feasibility studies, mine financial evaluations, life of mine planning, mining tradeoff studies, mine construction management, EPCM, mine organizational structures and due diligence reports. George is a Registered Professional Engineer and holds a BS in Mining from Queens University, and a BS in Geology and Geophysics from Sydney University. In February 2017, George was elected to the Orvana Minerals Board and is also on the Board of the Goodman school of mines. An active member of the CIM George is Vice Chair of the Underground Mining Society. since 2018.
