Ms. Carmen Patricia Armendariz Guerra has served as Independent Director of Grupo Financiero Banorte, S.A.B. de C.V. since April 2009. She is Member of the Audit and Corporationrationrate Practices Committee since July 2011. She is Managing Director at Financiera Sustentable, a company engaged in microfinance, and is Partner Director and Founder of Valores Financieros, company dedicated to consultancy for banking systems. She was advisor to the Mexican Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, a position in which she coordinated the negotiation of financial services within the North American Free Trade Agreement, and later served as Vice President for Supervision at the National Banking and Securities Commission, and Associate Director of the Bank for International Settlements, in charge of analyzing the impact of Basel II in emerging markets. She was advisor to GFNortes Chairman Emeritus, Roberto Gonzalez Barrera, and Director of Special Projects at the same Institution. She was international consultant in banking crises, Professor of Economics at Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico and author of several academic and specialized publications in Banking and Macroeconomics. She holds undergraduate degree in Actuarial Mathematics from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, a Masters Degree in Economics from the same institution and a Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University in New York. since 2009.

Grupo Financiero Banorte Leadership Team
Elected by the shareholders, the Grupo Financiero's board of directors comprises two types of representatives: Grupo Financiero inside directors who are chosen from within the company, and outside directors, selected externally and held independent of Grupo.
