Mr. Luan Wenpeng serves as Independent NonExecutive Director of the Company. He graduated from the Qinghua University with a bachelors degree in Electronic Engineering in 1986, obtained a masters degree in Power and Automation from the Tianjin University in 1989, and obtained a doctors degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom in 1999. Mr. Luan is a PEng in British Columbia, Canada, a senior member of IEEE and a member of CIGRE. He was engaged in the works as well as the research of systematic planning of the electrical power system, smart power grids, smart metering infrastructure, distribution automation, data analysis, distributed energy resources integration, asset management etc. for more than 15 years. During the period from 2007 to 2012, he took full participation in the project demonstration, planning, tendering and implementation for and of the smart meter project of the BC Hydro in British Columbia, Canada, as a supervisor of the technology sector of smart metering infrastructure, covering the establishment of project standards, the design of the structure of advanced metering infrastructure, the selection of technical solution and the execution of implementation plan as well as the design and research and development of the advanced applications of smart meter data supporting the operation of power distribution system. Being familiar with the most uptodate AMI solutions throughout North America and all around the world, Mr. Luan proactively participated in the application, data analysis and other works of the information security, computer network technology and communication technology of power communication networks and its control system in power sector. since 2016.
