Mr. Kabat is the Chairman of Unums Board of Directors, and the retired Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of Fifth Third Bancorp, a diversified financial services company. He also served in numerous executive positions with Fifth Third. He has executive leadership experience, extensive financial, operating and strategic planning expertise and understands the importance of risk management and the challenges of managing a business in a highly regulated industry since 2017.

Unum Group Leadership Team
Elected by the shareholders, the Unum's board of directors comprises two types of representatives: Unum inside directors who are chosen from within the company, and outside directors, selected externally and held independent of Unum.
