Ms. Beatrice Weder di Mauro, Ph.D., is Independent Director at UBS Group AG since November 26, 2014. She was elected to the BoD of UBS AG at the 2012 AGM and of UBS Group AG in November 2014. She is Research Professor and Distinguished Fellow at the Emerging Markets Institute at INSEAD in Singapore. From 2001 to 2018, she held the chair of international macroeconomics at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz and was a member of the German Council of Economic Experts from 2004 to 2012. She held visiting positions at the International Monetary Fund in Washington, DC, at the National Bureau of Economic Research in Cambridge, MA, and at the United Nations University in Tokyo. Prior to this, she worked as an economist at the IMF and the World Bank in Washington, DC. She received a PhD and a habilitation in economics from the University of Basel. Since 2005, Ms. Weder di Mauro has served as an independent director on the boards of globally leading companies in development finance, pharmaceuticals, technology and insurance. since 2012.
