Dr. Dale E. Klein Ph.D. is Independent Director of the Company. Dr. Klein served as Chairman of the NRC from July 2006 to May 2009, and thereafter continued as a Commissioner until March 2010. He was Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Defense Programs from November 2001 to July 2006. Dr. Klein is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. He has held this position since September 1977. Dr. Klein is also Associate Vice Chancellor for Research at the University of Texas System. He has held this position since January 2011. He is also a director of Southern Company. since 2010.
