He retired from Centex Corporation in June 2006. Mr. Echols previously served as a member of the board of directors of Roofing Supply Group Holdings, Inc., a private company. He also served on the board of TXU Corporation where he chaired the Audit Committee and was a member of the Strategic Transactions Committee until the completion of the private equity buyout of TXU in October 2007. Mr. Echols earned a BS degree in accounting from Arkansas State University and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of CPAs. Mr. Echols has also served as a director of the General Partner since January 2008. Mr. Echols was selected to serve as a director due to his accounting and financial experience and service as the Chief Financial Officer for a public company, among other factors. since 2008.
