Dr. Xiaodong Wang, Ph.D., is NonExecutive Director of the Company since February 2016. He has also served as the Chairman of our Scientific Advisory Board since 2011. Dr. Wang has served as the founding Director of the National Institute of Biological Sciences in Beijing since 2003 and became its Director and Investigator in 2010. Previously, he was a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator from 1997 to 2010 and held the position of the George L. MacGregor Distinguished Chair Professor in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas from 2001 to 2010. In 2004, Dr. Wang founded Joyant Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a VCbacked biotechnology company focused on the development of small molecule therapeutics for cancer. Dr. Wang received his B.S. in Biology from Beijing Normal University in July, 1984 and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in May, 1991. Dr. Wang was a member of the National Academy of Science, USA since 2004 and a foreign associate of the Chinese Academy of Sciences since 2013. since 2016.
