Mr. Paul H. Compton is Group Chief Operating Officer of the Company. He is responsible for leading Barclays Operations, Technology and Services, and driving the implementation of major Bankwide projects. Paul is leading the continuous enhancement of Barclays operating structure to drive efficiency across the organisation, building on the progress of the business to date in delivering strong performance for shareholders. In addition to his responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer, Paul was appointed on 1 September 2017 Chief Executive Officer, Barclays Execution Services. Paul is leading on our ambition to become a worldclass provider of simple, efficient, innovative and secure Operation and Technology services to Barclays Group and its two operating divisions, Barclays UK and Barclays International, generating sustainable growth and returns. Prior to joining Barclays, Paul served for nearly two decades in a variety of senior operating roles at JPMorgan Chase. His most recent role at JPMorgan was Chief Administrative Officer and, before being appointed in this role in 2013, Paul served as CoChief Administrative Officer for the Corporationrationrate Investment Bank, Deputy Head of Operations, and head of the JPMorgan Chase Global Service Centre in India. Paul started his career at JPMorgan in 1997, and first led the overhaul of the wholesale banks credit risk infrastructure, before taking on the role as Chief Financial Officer for the Investment Bank. Previous to JPMorgan, Paul spent 10 years as Principal at Ernst Young in the Brisbane and New York offices. Paul holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Queensland, Australia. He received postgraduate degrees from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and the Securities Institute of Australia. since 2021.
