He first started at Ahold in 1991, and over the next 16 years served in several international commercial and general management roles, including Commercial Director AsiaPacific based in Singapore, Regional Director Albert Heijn, General Manager Gall Gall and General Manager of Etos. Wouter is a member of the supervisory boards of the Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam and concert hall Paradiso. since 2018.
