Mr. Sheng Chen serves as Executive Chairman of the Board of 21Vianet Group, Inc. Mr. Chen is one of our cofounders and has served as the executive chairman of our board of directors since our inception. He was our chief executive officer since our inception to October 2015. Mr. Chen was instrumental to the development and success of our business. Mr. Chen provides vision, overall management, and strategic decisionmaking relating to marketing, investment planning, and corporate development. Mr. Chen has more than 20 years experience in the internet infrastructure industry in China and started his entrepreneur career in 1990 when he was a sophomore at Tsinghua University. In 1999, Mr. Chen founded our business and started the first carrierneutral data center in China. Mr. Chen received his bachelors degree in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University in 1991. Mr. Chen is a member of the Tsinghua Entrepreneur Executive Club and a managing director of the Internet Society of China. since 2015.
